Agunda Tsirikhova, or singer Agunda, is a young artist from Vladikavkaz, who became the discovery of the winter of 2020 by releasing a song based on her own poems “The Moon Doesn’t Know…” together with the Taipan group.
Agunda Tsirikhova: biography
Tsirikhova Agunda Ruslanovna was born on October 6, 2003 in Vladikavkaz, in the capital of the Republic of North Ossetia. As a child, she, according to her, was not fond of music, grew up as an athletic child, was engaged in fencing and loved to go to the pool. Of all the school subjects, the future artist was attracted by mathematics, it was with her that she connected her future and dreamed of entering the University at the Faculty of Mathematics.
Tsirikhova was called one of the most promising students of the fencing sports school, she participated in many competitions, such as Don Autumn, for example, and in 2014 she received the first youth category. There is no Wikipedia article on Agunda, which gives rise to many questions about her. In an interview, Tsirikhova does not talk about who her parents are, does not post family photos on social networks, however, she speaks of relatives with warmth in her voice, noting that they have always supported her hobby – writing songs.
When Agunda was in the seventh grade, music broke into her life and she became interested in hip-hop. When asked how old she was when she wrote her first song, she answers with a little embarrassment. It turns out that she started writing songs at the age of 12, and her sister and parents became her first listeners. Music gradually replaced fencing, in 2019 Agunda left sports and began to devote all her time to music, which, however, did not affect her school performance.

As the young singer says, she is inspired to write songs by nature and the emotions that she experiences from communicating with family and friends. There is no information on the Internet about what songs Agunda wrote at the beginning of her creative biography, before the release of the star track “The Moon Does Not Know …”, however, she herself claims that the composition that glorified her name was far from the first attempt at writing. On Agunda’s page on the VKontakte social network, you can only find her rehashings of famous songs, for example, “And I keep thinking about her”, which is performed by the young duet Reyyan & Miran. At the beginning of 2020, the girl posted on social networks and on popular music platforms a song called “The Moon Knows No Way”, which in the shortest possible time took first place in the charts and became the leader in listening, glorifying the name of the tenth grader.
Agunda Tsirikhova and Taipan: the story of meeting and creating a famous song
According to Agunda, she learned about the Taipan creative project, which was born back in 2009 and was originally called the Sparta project, on social networks. The girl liked the sound of the songs of musicians from Kursk, especially Medina, and she was the first to write to them to get acquainted. At the age of 16, she finished work on the text of the song “The moon does not know …” and showed her creation to the guys who wrote the music. An interesting fact is that at first Agunda gave her song the name “The sky is blue”, taking lines from her poem as the title, but the Kursk musicians suggested a name that seemed to them more poetic and memorable.
Taipan and Agunda on the air of Autoradio
The recording of the song, which was destined to reveal to the Russians both the name of the Vladikavkaz schoolgirl and the work of the Taipan collective, took place in Kursk. In mid-January 2020, the guys posted a lyrical composition on VKontakte and literally in a matter of days she topped the top of the most popular compositions. There are disputes about the content of the song on the Internet, no one can say exactly what the meaning of the song is, what kind of keys the author is looking for, and what chambers and why he wants to hide, the text is too abstract, and therefore everyone sees in it what he can or want to see. The listeners, among whom teenagers and young people under 20 years old predominate, agree on only one thing, the voice of Agunda, combined with the voice of the singer from the Taipan group, deaf and deliberately monotonous, has a hypnotic effect. Also, many listeners note that the secret of the hypnotic, or even meditative, impact of the song is hidden not only in the combination of the performers’ voices, but also in the strange consonance of unclear meaning and unpretentious dance framing with traceable ethnic inclusions, which is explained by the singer’s nationality.

At the beginning of February 2020, Agunda and the Taipan band performed in the Drive Show “Let’s Go” on Avtoradio, presenting their song about the moon, stars and searching for keys. On the air of the program, the musicians invited the audience and listeners to their first performance, which took place on February 14 in one of the Moscow clubs.
At the end of February, Agunda became a guest of the show program at the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company of Alanya and gave her first official interview, during which she told the presenter that she plans to enter a university after graduation. Nevertheless, the young singer said that she sees her future only in music, which is why she began to take vocal lessons. The viewers who watched the episode of Agunda’s interview on YouTube called her the pride of the Ossetian nation and wished her creative success.
The long-awaited news about the release of the second song of Agunda came to her fans, whose number on the social network VKontakte amounted to about six thousand, and on Instagram more than sixty thousand, at the end of February. The video for the song “You are alone”, recorded by Agunda with Kursk musicians, was posted on YouTube, but the song did not break the record set by the debut composition, partly due to the fact that the voices of the young singer are few and almost inaudible.
